Halfway Reflection

To take ENT3003, you need to not procrastinate. All of the assignments are due at the end of the week and it is very easy to loose track of time and do a weeks worth of work 2 hours before all of the weeks assignments are done. One thing I was surprised by was the course is that since we need conduct interviews occasionally, how kind some people were and how many people I was able to talk to by simply asking.  As I had mentioned before, procrastinating on the assignments can be horrible since a total weeks work of work is due at the same time. On one particular Friday night, I had two long ENT3003 assignments I put off to later, a writing assignment and an exam that I had to study for all in the same night, which made my highly consider not completing all of the assignments. But somehow I managed to get all of the things done.  3 Tips  Don't Procrastinate Easier said then done. Attempt to get one of two assignments done on Wednesday and the second one on Friday ...

Reading Reflection No1

Book Read: How to fail at almost everything and still win big Author: Scott Adams One of the biggest things that shocked me while reading this book is that the creator of the comic Dilbert  has as many entrepreneurship endeavors as they had done through their lifetime. He had talked about his list of failed ventures, ranging from restaurants to folders with integrated floppy disk holders. One of the most surprising things that he had talked about, is the medical/mental problems he had and how he was able to overcome them. He had a very positive outlook on failure, and believed even if he failed, he learned some sort of skill that could apply later down the line I had noticed that Adams had a superior work ethic, and even dedicated multiple chapters to this and how dieting and exercising would help as well as mentioning the mindset behind it and how everybody has a limited amount of determination which should be used on impactful things. I was always confused why the cr...

Testing the Hypothesis Pt2

Elementary School Art Teacher: Mrs. Tucker,          Mrs. Tucker was my art teacher back in about 3rd and/or 4th grade. I was good friends with her son who in my class. While catching up with her when I ran into her at a Publix, I told her about my idea and said that she saw the potential. But felt that she would be unable to pilot my program in her classroom for a couple of reasons. Since she was a elementary art teacher, she felt little need for the ability to know whether or not her students were on task or not, because she would know based on their artwork. PK Young Technology Director: Mrs. Gabbard,          I had recently met with Mrs. Gabbard from PK Young to pitch to her my software product. Due to certain factors, that I'm unable to discuss, she confirmed our suspicion that schools would only have a need for our product in middle and high school. Principal of Ivy Hawn: Dr. Conway           I had ...

Solving the Problem

Image
As mentioned 'Testing the Hypothesis' blogpost, my problem and opportunity was the need for a monitoring solution that could be implemented in students personal devices, that would be easy to use, quick and reliable. I am fortunate because, for this idea, I have already gotten to these steps and have created a finished product. Problem (Recap) Unless teachers are looking over their students personal devices, they have no idea of what their students are doing and most often will not let their students use their devices.  Solution (1st part) To enable teachers to know what their students will be doing on their personal devices, I had devised an app that students would download onto their personal devices, that would create a link between that devices and the teachers computer. To make it easy on the teacher, we devised of a method that would allow teachers to quickly view it their students are using our platform, their name and then which sub-app they are in (as seen bel...

Testing the Hypothesis

An opportunity that many companies have passed in the education technology sector, and my company I am a founder of is based on, is a software that enables students to utilize their personal devices in the classroom as well as creating a bridge between the their devices and the teachers computer. Currently schools face the problem of not having a good solution to the incorporation of personal devices in the classroom. Either schools outright ban the use of these devices or let the students run rampant.      Before starting on the coding and funding stages of the company, we had talked to many people involved in the school system to ask them about their opinions. I talked with many teachers that taught vastly different subjects, as well as the administrators and even principal of my high school From this we found out that the only competitor to our solution is a company that changes the administrator permissions on every students phones and is a hassl...
