Your Venture's Unfair Advantage

Resources
  • Human Capital
    • Finance intern
      • Our finance intern has been a great addition to the team, as they are able to take some of the financial projection as well as daily number crunching off of my shoulders and allows me to focus on other larger things for the company. I feel that he bonds well with the rest of the team, which helps adds to our company culture that we have started to grow.
    • Marketing intern
      • Our marketing intern has been detrimental to the company recently. Personally, I am very bad with social media and he has directed and identified a company personality that schools and teachers will see when they view our company
    • Myself
      • To be as humble as I can, I feel that I am a benefit to the company as I feel that I am good with making connections and talking in front of large crowds
  • Social Capital
    • Initial mentor (Quang Tran)
      • The person I first met on my journey through entrepreneurship was Quang, he introduced me to the people to get my product developed and helped significantly in forming the basis of the company and teaching me many of the small things in business that would be hard to learn otherwise. More recently, he is extremely hard to get a hold of as he works with many other small startups.
    • EdTec mentor (James Gibson)
      • My other main mentor, who I have mentioned previously, runs an EdTec company in roughly the same market as my company is. He has taught me many of the things that are specific to the EdTec industry.
    • Entrepreneurship Collective
      • The second club I joined at the University of Florida was ECO and the community that I have found there is something I deeply value and feel is non-unsuitable with any other group of people who share a common interest in entrepreneurship.
    • Empty Bottle Club
      • Despite its name, The Empty Bottle CLUB (EBC) is a networking event that happens once a month that enables business leaders and people deeply involved in the startup community to drink and network with people they would normally not come in contact with. This has been invaluable and I have met many interesting people that may be able to help in the future.
  • Financial Capital
    • Our initial investor
      • Our initial investor (Name Undisclosed) put the funds required to start the coding and beginning paces of the company down to enable it to start. Without these people, this company would've most likely never gotten off of the ground. They still give input about company direction and other things they have learned throughout their journey.
    • Our 1st seed-round investor
      • Our first seed round investor (Name & Amount Undisclosed) have been critical towards continuing development and enabling us to start our marketing campaigns aimed towards teachers and school administrators
    • Our Office Space in the Innovation Hub
      • Our office space at the Innovation Hub has been instrumental in our success. It gives us a dedicated space that enables us to work and be productive

Our Top Resource
  • Our top resource would be our initial investors, they believed in the idea of the company long before any programming or product development had started. They have enabled us to start from just an idea and run to a finished product that schools are using and paying for.

  1. Hey Collin,

Great to see that you are able to hire interns, too bad the marketing intern hasn’t helped that much. It’s awesome that the initial investor allowed you to develop your idea, I would love to find out how you pitched and convinced them to to give you funding!
