Evaluating How your customers evaluate stuff
- Since I had neglected to do last weeks assignment, I wasn't able to say that this product that I have been thinking about would be a version of WeWork for the Gainesville startup/self-employed student population. For those that don't know, WeWork is a company that buys/rents real estate and then subleases work spaces that enables people to access a creative and productive work space with all the tools that they would need.
- Find people who would fit the customer segment and interview them
- Ana Primo
- Ana runs a startup that she feels could use this service. Her company that she co-founded is currently not at the stage that they can rent a dedicated space of their own to use, so they think that they could benefit from the rented space.
- Paul Ramirez
- Paul currently works for a small startup that runs out the Innovation Hub, he has talked to me that his company shouldn't be renting out their own space. He thinks that his company would benefit from the cheaper rent and the space that they would have access to at a reduced cost
- Alex Pagani
- Alex also works for a startup that he feels would benefit from leasing from a subleased commercial space. Many of his co-workers are also students and feels that they would benefit from a working area that would be much closer to campus.
- Begin with alternative evaluation
- There are currently a couple of options for seedling companies to get rooted. There is rent able space in the Innovation Hub (At a high monthly rate) or a small free crowed area inside of the Gator-hatchery.
- How/where do they buy?
- People that are currently finding the solutions to startup space by touring the locations beforehand. Both of these solutions are backed by the university that advertises them occasionally to the student population
- Post-purchase evaluation
- Many of the people I had talked to regarding the already present solutions, feel that they are an acceptable fit, but wished that there were more options available
- Report the findings
- I had talked with many student-entrepenuers in the student population, and feel that even if their company already has a 'home-base' established, that they could benefit from having a communal work space they they can rent space from.
