"Medical Bills plague millennials; these tips may be the cure"
http://daytonanewsjournal.fl.newsmemory.com/?selDate=demo
This document talks alot about the reasons why medical bills are so expensive and how many people cant afford medical insurance. However, the thing that caught my eye was that the woman that the article was about, Chrystal McKay, refused a ambulance ride after a car addident. This made me think about an idea that could pair a UBER and an ambulance.

"Butts on the Beach"
http://daytonanewsjournal.fl.newsmemory.com/?ta_r=1
This news article, which was on the front page, talks about a Florida bill that would ban smoking on public beaches. The reason why I chose this article was because I had recently seen a product that would systematically roam around the beach collecting debris that washed ashore

"JetBlue has left the building"
http://daytonanewsjournal.fl.newsmemory.com/?ta_r=1
This article focused on how JetBlue made the business decision of leaving the Daytona Regional Airport and economic effects that it would have. This article was focused on how it would impact the average consumer, using this regional airport to connect to much larger ones like Orlando International or Miami Dade airport. From this article and the events that happened. I could foresee increase in buses running from Daytona to larger Florida Hubs,

Oceanside hotel gets approved
http://daytonanewsjournal.fl.newsmemory.com/?ta_r=1ega
This article was mainly negative towards the approval of a new hotel. The article was so negative because because it also talked about how this was a floodgate for the approval of many other development projects. This article was aimed towards homeowners that have been fighting for years against developers to keep from completely building sky scrapers covering up the whole shoreline of Florida.

Floating on air over return
http://daytonanewsjournal.fl.newsmemory.com/?ta_r=1
This last article that I had found dove into the reason and return of 'The Balloon & Sky Fest' and how the return of this annual festival, after a 3 year hiatus, would enable development in the section of town. They expect the New Symerna Airfield to grow in size and expect development of more amenities. This article was aimed towards people who are interested in going to these types of events to let them know that this will be a returning act.

Hey Collin!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your post. The one article that particularly caught my eye was the one about the new hotel being built. It was similar to an article in my post about a new 50-story condo was being built in Downtown St. Petersburg, and everyone was upset about it because they felt that the city already had enough luxurious housing and wanted something better in the downtown area.
The article about JetBlue leaving Daytona really caught my eye because I found a similar article about many airlines deciding to pull out of servicing Cuba. This must mean that they are auditing themselves and cutting costs by removing themselves from areas where they aren't making as much money as they intended. I feel like although it may be beneficial for them, it is going to reduce their business in the long run because traveling is going to become more expensive for the passengers.
