Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulator Trends

Opprotunities Economic Trend Ideas Property Values increasing property values are increasing, especially in Gainesville, and across the country. This would be relatively easy for consumers to exploit because they would want to buy now for cheaper than later, when the same house would be more expensive Property investing has been a major financial sector for decades, with its up and downs. However, right now, I feel and with proof, know that the value of homes will continue to rise, until the next housing bubble Stock selling platforms Some Software As a Service (SAS) startups that focus on democratizing buying and selling stocks on the stock market have gotten billion dollar valuations. I foresee many copycats, or spin-off products that will also reach this level of prominence.  Regulatory Change Ideas Marijuana legal in more states I personally believe that marijuana will become legal within the next couple of years. Because of this, I have personal invested so...

Identifying Local Opportunities

Five Opprotunities 1) Daytona News Journal, September  30,2018          "Medical Bills plague millennials; these tips may be the cure"           http://daytonanewsjournal.fl.newsmemory.com/?selDate=demo                  This document talks alot about the reasons why medical bills are so expensive and how many people cant afford medical insurance. However, the thing that caught my eye was that the woman that the article was about, Chrystal McKay, refused a ambulance ride after a car addident. This made me think about an idea that could pair a UBER and an ambulance. 2)Daytona News Journal      "Butts on the Beach"      http://daytonanewsjournal.fl.newsmemory.com/?ta_r=1               This news article, which was on the front page, talks about a Florida bill that would ban smoking on public beaches. The reason why I c...

Forming an Opportunity Belief

(The below is written from a company the I currently run) Currently there are no ways that schools can know what a student is doing on their personal devices. Either they outright ban the use of personal devices like phones or computer, or they allow the students to run rampant, and the students get nothing done in class because they get distracted. I feel that there is a need for a product that allows to teacher to digitally view what the students are doing on their personal devices comparative to a teacher looking over a students shoulder in class.  The customer for this product would be teachers, administrators and district boards who want to see a solution to this problem I talked with my mentor Quang Tran, and he feels that there is a definite way to capitalize on the need for a software as a service company (SAS) that could solve this problem. Many teachers that I had talked to prior, have experienced this problem and want to incorporate student's phones into class,...

My Entrepreneurship Story: ClassroomSync

Image
Ever since I can remember I had played with LEGOs and aspired to become an Mechanical Engineer because I always enjoyed building things. It wasn't until my senior year of high school that I realized that what I wanted to build was something intangible: a business. I was also inspired by my Mom, who grew up with nothing and worked her way up the ladder of her accounting firm. She taught me many aspects of business because while working at home, I would overhear what she was talking about on the phone and would ask her about it afterwords.  I currently run a company called ClassroomSync based in the UF innovation hub and have 5 interns working towards a common goal. My idea came from my senior year of my high school calculus 2 class. Since then I have met a mentor and developed my product to a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). As of now, I am deeply embedded with the startup community and am familiar with many people and companies in the space. I have decided to enroll in ENT3003 be...

'Bug List'

"Bug List" Everyday we encounter many small things that may irritate or irk us, but are so busy or do not care to notice these small things. Mindful people, who stop and live in the moment, are more likely to notice these almost microscopic things. I have compiled a list of a few things that have irritated me over the last week along with the reason they are caused. Enjoy! 1.      When you are skateboarding around campus and people have their face buried into their phones and are taking the entire sidewalk.         Because people do not think that a skateboarder will be coming behind them, and focus too much on their phones 2.        The neighbors in the apartment next to me are easily heard because the walls in the Social28 are paper thin         Because the Social 28 was built quickly to compete with the Standard 3.        Scooters that go only 20 miles pe...
