What's your secret sauce?

  1. 5 unique human capital strategies
      1. Product Design/Visualization
        1. With my background as a mechanical engineer, I have always enjoyed and practice seeing how things work together. I feel that I am able to visualize things and how they could work together, even if they don't exist already
      2. Dedication/One-track mind
        1. When I find myself determined towards a certian thing, I can spend many days solely focused on what I feel passionate about. Sadly, is this rarely about school and usually focuses on business or related ventures
      3. Networking
        1. I am fortunate the my network is highly connected into the startup community since it is such a small and tight-knit sphere. I also feel that this is due to my networking skills and finding out what benefit I can bring to people to help them.
      4. Team Management
        1. Since my company currently has 4 interns, a skill that I have learned over time is person management, so that way a cohesive team is formed
      5. Work Ethic
        1. Like mentioned in 2, I like to think that I have a strong work ethic when I put myself to the task
  2. What close friends say about me
    1. Robert (High School Friend)
      1. After jokingly calling me names and saying that I have nothing I am good at, he said that he thinks that my person management skills and dedication were 'on point'. He said this because in high school, I always organized many friends to come over to my house and do certain things. He thinks that this truly showed my person-management skills.
    2. Brandon (Intern for ClassroomSync)
      1. One of the interns for my company, upon asking his what he though of me, he said he truthfully said that he felt I excelled in recognizing what my faults and shortcomings are. He had joined the company early on, and is there for marketing, as I had originally told him that I do not use social media.
    3. Harrison (College Friend)
      1. After meeting him in my dorms common area, Harrison and I have been good friends. Upon asking him what he thought of me, he said that I did a good job of keeping professional when the time was right as well as knowing when I could let loose and relax.
    4. Weston (College Friend)
      1. Weston is a friend that I had met this year and spent a lot of time with. He said that he admired my dedication to one project, as I have been working on my business for over 2 years
    5. Taylor (Business Connection)
      1. Taylor runs a podcasting company, who I had gotten to know as our businesses work near each other. I have spent many hours brainstorming for podcasts and giving him feedback on pre-recorded podcasts. He surprisingly said that I was good at art and design since I had originally designed their temporary logo.
  3. Reflect on differences
    1. I feel that my friends and close peers view me as in semi-different ways that I view myself. Many of the things my close peers saw are things that I don't typically notice or things that I don't intentionally focus on

  1. Hi Collin,

I enjoyed reading your list. I think this was an interesting assignment. We all get to brag about ourselves little bit. Ha ha. I particularly admire your no.2 skill, being able to dedicate yourself on the project. For many people, it's hard to be motivated to keep go on; some people even procrastinate. Especially, entrepreneurs must be the boss of their own. Keep up the good work. I suppose the key is to have a steady pace that won't burn you out in the long run.
